If you must continue taking this medication, you can expect the bruising and swelling to last slightly longer. Alcohol also acts as a blood thinner, and this means that patients must stop drinking a few days before their treatment.
Sculptra® Recovery
Patients should expect recovery to last for at least a half a day after the appointment. This often means taking some time off of work, school, or errands as the swelling goes down and the bruising fades. It is important to not use any cosmetics whatsoever on or around the injection site. Gently applying a cold compress to the swollen skin will help to reduce discomfort, and patients can begin taking over-the-counter painkillers immediately following the injections.
